This year we had the exciting opportunity to take part in a five-day trip to England. Together with our classmates we explored cities, landscapes and everyday life in England.
Day One – Off to England
Our journey began early in the morning, 6:30 a.m. After many hours on the bus, we arrived at the ferry port in France and crossed the English Channel by ferry. In the evening, we took a short walk along the coast and then we were assigned to our host families.
Day Two – City Tour Rally and a Trip Back in Time
Our second day started with a guided tour of Hastings, where we learned many interesting facts about the city's history. Afterwards, we took part in a city rally in small groups. We had to solve tasks and find certain places. In the afternoon, we went on an excursion to the historic town of Rye.
Day Three – Brighton and a Walk with a View
On the third day, we visited Brighton. We took part in another city rally and discovered important sights like Brighton Pier or the Royal Pavilion. Afterwards, we had some free time to stroll through the town, buy souvenirs, or relax by the sea. In the afternoon, we continued to Eastbourne and hiked along the cliffs to the Seven Sisters.
Day Four – Discovering London
The fourth day took us to the capital: London! We started with a guided tour and saw famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and lots of other sights. Afterwards, we had free time to explore the city in small groups.
Day Five – Saying Goodbye On our final day we visited a viewpoint overlooking the coast in the morning. Afterwards, we attended an interactive show called "Who are the English?" where we learned more about English culture and history in an entertaining way. We then had some final free time in Hastings before beginning our return journey at 4:30 p.m. We traveled overnight and arrived back at school at 7:00 a.m. the next morning – tired, but full of great memories.
